About SAS Tactical

SAS Tactical (Situational Awareness System) offers self-defense and fitness training for those in need, so they can live easily while having peace of mind, security and comfort. We offer an effective self-protection program that utilizes Filipino Martial Arts and other combative methodologies for personal safety and fitness training. SAS employs defenses against the use of empty hands, edged weapons, blunt objects, and firearms. In addition to self-defense, the SAS curriculum has many supplemental gains, such as improved situational awareness and physical fitness.


James Roberts

CEO and Founder
James is a certified instructor of Filipino Martial Arts, Jun Fan Gung Fu , and Krav Maga. He currently trains and teaches in the DFW area. He also holds practitioner certifications from International KravMaga Federation “IKMF”, and Krav Maga Worldwide. He currently works with and trains individuals privately, law enforcement officials and military.


Marcus Robertson

Director of Marketing
Marcus Robertson is a U.S. Army medical officer holding instructor certifications from Krav Maga Alliance and Krav Maga and practitioner certifications in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts. He is also a Certified Children’s instructor and safety specialist teaching children self-defense and life skills to keep them safe.


Stephen Arandas

Director of Communications
Stephen Aranda is an authorized instructor of Pekiti Tirsia -SMF who has trained under several world renowned Kali masters including Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaja Jr. and Tuhon Tim Waid. His primary instructor, or “Lakan Guro,” Jim Buchanan has passed down his personal knowledge of PTK, specifically training with the solo kalis.
